The FIFA 2026 World Cup

will bring millions of soccer fans to the New York City area.

There is an active boycott and picket line at the Fairfield by Marriott New York Manhattan Times Square and the Four Points by Sheraton Midtown - Times Square. The workers authorized the boycott and picket line in a unanimous vote in reaction to multiple unfair labor practices committed by hotel management. We ask that you support the workers by canceling your stay and rebooking at a nearby union hotel.

Under NYC law, the hotel is required to notify guests of significant service disruptions, including picket lines, and to allow guests to cancel and be refunded for their stay.

For over 85 years, union hotel workers in New York City have organized and taken on powerful employers to win living wages, free healthcare, security, fair treatment, protections against discrimination, and reasonable workloads. They enjoy the best union contract in the world for hotel workers.

Meanwhile, thousands of non-union hotel workers across New York City make poverty-level wages, endure back-breaking workloads, face demeaning treatment, and generally work in an environment of fear and intimidation. Some of these brave hotel workers are organizing to join our union and to better their lives.

Shifting the balance of power in a hotel isn’t easy and often requires collective action by the workers – including boycotts, picket lines, and strikes. Support hotel workers fighting for a union contract by staying at a strike-safe hotel.
